If your looking for a quiet place set in a beautiful surrounding look no further. This shepherds hut has everything. Ealing up surrounded by nature the sounds of the birds and the sheep was just what we needed. It has everything you need and the bed is SO comfortable, I didn't want to get up! The what 3 words was really helpful as my satnav didn't work. A really lovely weekend and the weather didn't dampen our experience. Defo recommend, thankyou x

"We really enjoyed our time at Oak Lodge. We were looking for somewhere quiet and peaceful to escape Edinburgh for a few days over hogmanay and all the fireworks.. our dog isn't a fan of the noise. Travel instructions from Vanessa, our host, we're super helpful. The Shephards Hut is fully equipped and has everything you need.. then some more! It feels homely and cosy, whilst also compact and remote at the same time. The shower was a stand out.. always piping hot and spacious. Lots of little extra nice touches made the stay that bit more special.. from some games, books and DVDs that were there for us to use, to a lovely New Year's gift. We loved our visit and will be recommending to friends. Lots of lovely walks and places to explore close by, ensuring you won't be bored! :)"

"We were looking for a pet friendly private accommodation that's rural and not far from the sea, last minute for a couple of nights for the bank holiday weekend not too far but also not too close to Glasgow and that's how we came across Vanessa's listing. I found it at 9am in the morning, messaged her, she got back to me straight away, so we booked it and were already on our way. Absolutely loved the privacy and being out in the nature, off line but civilisation wasn't too far either. Loved the decor, the cleanliness and the functionally of the lodge. We used the outside area a lot (great spot for stargazing, no light pollution) The lodge was very cosy and warm (nights were cold outside but heating was very sufficient) we also used the kitchen and found tea/coffee provided a nice touch. Instructions were handy and easy to follow. Self check in/ out very easy, too. Visited some beaches recommended in the info book and stumbled upon a castle ruin with stunning views, too. Loved this trip!"

What a lovely place! This is the 2nd time we have stayed. Such a cosy little cabin with beautiful scenery all around.
Such a great time... can't wait to stay again!
It's just so nice yo get away from the city, and all the noise, and just appreciate nature.
Shame the farmer has moved the cows in the nearby field tho. Didn't get to pet them this time.

Private, tranquil, and a great escape from reality.
Oak Lodge is set back into a beautiful part of the Scottish countryside with a perfect balance of seclusion and not being too far away from civilization.
It is truly peaceful and relaxing to sit and take in the sound of nature with no traffic or other noises around.
I can't imagine there are many places like this with such reasonable prices.

We enjoyed staying at Oak Lodge, Sunnyside.
Beautiful cabin, cosy, all amenities catered for.
We enjoyed a walk into Methlick for a meal and drinks in the pub.
We got to pet the cows on the way.
Would stay again.
Looking forward to our next booking.
Thoughtful amenities
